The Power of Touch

Touching is the first communication a baby receives. The first language of its development is through the skin.
-Frederick Leboyer, author of Loving Hands: The Traditional Art of Baby Massage

Infant Massage has been shown to improve sleep, relaxation, circulation, mother-infant interaction and emotional bonding, lead to an increase in weight gain, enhance neuromotor development, and reduce stress hormones and crying. In addition, parents have found many other promising benefits including improved digestion, elimination, gas relief, and reduced discomfort from colic and teething.

About My Practice

Stella Ohl, Licensed Massage Therapist (LMT), graduated from the Finger Lakes School of Massage in 1997. She worked at the Lourdes Wellness Center from 1998 to 2000 and currently maintains a thriving private practice. Stella specializes in Swedish, Medical, Trigger Point, Sports, Hot Stone, and Infant Massage. She has been teaching Infant Massage since 1998.

In her Infant Massage practice, Stella teaches parents and caregivers how to massage their babies. She models massage techniques on a doll while parents and caregivers massage their babies. Her training sessions generally last for 60 to 90 minutes. She works both individually and with groups of parents and caregivers.

Stella operates out of her home office in Greene, New York, and makes house and site visits throughout the Southern Tier region.
